Assistant Branch Manager III - Sedona, AZ


Assists in supervising the daily operations of a full service Credit Union branch with a combined asset size over $100 million. Ensures that the branch is exceeding member expectations by empowering associates and maintaining a work environment which instills motivation, teamwork, and enterprising attitudes. Any individual who meets the definition of a mortgage loan originator and is employed by a federal agency-regulated institution will need to be registered on NMLS.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assists Manager in directing and coordinating activities to implement institution’s policies, procedures, and practices concerning granting or extending lines of credit, real estate loans, and consumer credit loans.

  • Assists Manager in setting office goals and develops action plans to meet those goals. Monitors associates' performance and administers evaluations.

  • Provides a work environment which instills motivation, teamwork, and enterprising attitudes.

  • Directs activities of associates engaged in implementing establishment services and performing such functions as serving members, authorizing loans, or opening any credit union accounts.

  • Assists in establishing procedures for custody and control of assets, records, loan collateral, and securities to ensure safekeeping.

  • Assists Manager in contacting members, businesses, community leaders, and civic organizations to promote goodwill and generate new business. Assists with marketing.

  • Prepares financial and regulatory reports required by law, regulations, Credit Union Management, and the Board of Directors.

  • Examines, evaluates, and processes loan applications.

  • Recommends changes which will improve member service to the reporting manager.

  • Maintains office reports for internal use, the Board of Directors, and Corporate Officers.

  • Talks to members to resolve account problems.

  • Explains, promotes, sells, and cross informs members of various credit union products and services.

  • Assists Manager in preparing annual office budgets, forecasts staffing, and facility needs.

  • Opens, secures, and closes office as needed.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Directly supervises more than 5 to 6 employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience

Two year college degree or completion of specialized course of study; five to ten years Assistant Branch Manager I or II experience or previous Assistant Branch Manager experience within the financial industry.
