Northern Regional President - Flagstaff, AZ

SUMMARY A Regional President provides leadership for developing, implementing and maintaining efficient, compliant, member-centric branch operations. Their work supports the overall retail business plan and strategic vision of the organization. This role is an operational strategist, implementation leader, member advocate, collaborator with key executives and change agent. This role ensures consistency and process integrity for all retail branch operations within their respective region.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Directly responsible for achieving Regional production, revenue and expense goals.

  • Actively participates in outside business development opportunities and community nonprofit boards.

  • Aligns people, processes and systems to create a streamline partner referral process.

  • Accountable for creating, managing and achieving budget goals.

  • Ensures effective communication of the credit union’s vision and strategic plan to associates

  • Leads, manages and develops branch managers

  • Provides guidance, expert advice and oversight on a wide variety of branch operations issues

  • Possesses in-depth knowledge of financial products and services; expertise in commercial products and services including small business banking

  • Effectively interfaces with members, employees, senior staff and board members

  • Communicate in an open, candid, clear and consistent manner with exceptional written, verbal and presentation skills to effectively convey goals and initiatives to staff and management

  • Provides strategic recommendations and influences management business decisions regarding products, risk, profitability, service and operations

  • Understand the organization’s vision, mission, strategies and form goals

  • Organizes, links and communicates the day-to-day activities to the long-term vision

  • Challenges established ways of doing things by sharing resourceful ideas and solutions

  • Organizes people and activities; understands how to separate and combine tasks into an efficient workflow

  • Simplifies complex processes to achieve more from fewer resources

  • Works in collaboration with retail executives, peers, branch managers and internal auditors to develop a control strategy to minimize risk for regional branches

  • Develops key performance metrics to optimize staffing levels and creates staffing plans to assist Retail Management around targeted service levels

  • Ensures compliance with corporate and regulatory procedures (e.g., Know Your Customer, Anti-Money Laundering, Fraud Prevention, etc.) by implementing and monitoring operational processes

  • Monitors branch operational activities through direct observation and coaching

  • Prepares and manages operations budget through supervision and guidance of associates

  • Supports the implementation of corporate and line-of-business initiatives by serving on various project teams/work groups and acting as a project manager as needed

  • Serves as a member of management and is considered a senior-level consultant within the organization

  • Supports and practices OneAZ’s mission, vision and values

  • Located out of a home office and travels regularly between branches

  • Develop an understanding of Credit Union philosophy, organization, bylaws, and operational procedures and comply with the requirements of the Bank Secrecy Act, AML, OFAC and all other applicable State and Federal Financial Institution Regulations.

    Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong business acumen along with the ability to understand and interpolate business initiatives into sound processes and reporting instruments

  • Extensive knowledge of branch operations (deposit/loan) and related procedures

  • Extensive knowledge of credit union policy, procedure, products and regulations required

  • Working knowledge of branch automation software and testing and documentation procedures

  • Comprehensive knowledge of all digital strategy delivery channels such as branches, ATM, debit cards, online banking, mobile banking and telephone banking

  • Capable of excelling and leading others in a dynamic, fast-paced, growing environment with significant regulatory demands and oversight

  • Project management skills preferred

Education and/or Experience

Undergraduate degree with a business major or relevant work experience. 5+ years’ experience as a subject-area expert in financial operations. Seasoned manager with extensive product knowledge and expertise
