Sr. Business Lending Operations Specialist - North Phoenix, AZ

Summary: Completes loan and member service functions and other related projects and duties in order to ensure timely and accurate servicing in accordance with member expectations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepares loan documentation (Laser Pro) in accordance with the loan specifications.

  • Orders applicable title work, appraisal and flood search.

  • Boards loans and Participations Bought/Sold to the loan accounting system (Summit/Spectrum).

  • Funds loans (inclusive of sending wires).

  • Conducts final check of all new loans with boarding information and ensures required information is properly signed and in file.

  • Prepares Participation wires to supporting credit unions along with posting entries to Participation loans. Updates Participation Excel spreadsheets.

  • Posts loan/financial ticklers (Outlook) and performs tickler follow-up.

  • Processes loan payments and payoffs ensuring funds are applied to appropriate accounts.

  • Assists loan officers in gathering information by ordering Credit Reports (Experian), Flood Determinations (LSI) and UCC Searches (Diligenz).

  • Processes loan advance requests from lending personnel/members to line of credit and construction loans. Ensures advance requests meet specific documentation requirements before processing.

  • Ensures lien perfection through timely recording/filing with appropriate state and county recorder’s offices.

  • Prepares vehicle title releases for lender's signature and forwards to the Department of Revenue with cashier's check as payment.

  • Sends new vehicle titles to the Department of Revenue with cashier's check.

  • Updates and maintains insurance and UCC filings.

  • Prepares and maintains both Credit and Collateral files and ensures they are filed in the fireproof file cabinets.

  • Assists Loan Operations Manager in developing internal procedures integral to meeting safety and soundness requirements.

  • Completes departmental projects and work assignments; learns and adheres to department and CU policies, procedures requirements and guidelines.

  • Completes a CTT Teller transaction Balance Sheet and forwards to Accounting.

  • Verifies new vehicle titles and final title policies to collateral and removes any ticklers as needed.

  • Closes out paid off files and prepares release of collateral for lender's signature.

  • Files releases (e.g., discharge of Deed of Trust, UCC3 termination) with appropriate state and county recorder’s offices.

  • Performs various office-related duties such as answering telephones, filing, preparing UPS packages, etc. Acts as back-up to the front desk when needed.

  • Other duties may be assigned.

  • Develop an understanding of Credit Union philosophy, organization, bylaws, and operational procedures and comply with the requirements of the Bank Secrecy Act, AML, OFAC and all other applicable State and Federal Financial Institution Regulations.

Education and/or Experience

High School Diploma; Minimum 10 years experience in business lending loan processing; a minimum of 5 years experience in document preparation (Laser Pro, Hot Docs or other doc prep system); solid knowledge of business lending loan types; customer service experience.
